Owner/Instructor Jon Fuhrman is a proud public servant, seving DeKalb County as a full time EMT with Parkview DeKalb EMS and as a Reserve EMT with Wells County EMS.
Jon got his start like most country kids, growing up hunting and shooting. From a very early age Jon was taught proper safety and handling and the older he got the more interested in shooting he got.
From 4H shooting sports in Middle School and High School to the Rifle Team both Small Bore (22's) and the High Power team (CMP National Match), Jon's love and passion for shooting continued to grow. In 2009, Jon and a few of his friends found the action shooting sport of USPSA. Becoming one of the top 30 in his division, including a Class Win at the Buckeye Challenge, his hunger for the action shooting sports world grew.
In 2010 Jon found what is commonly refered to as "3-Gun" Competitions. Shooting his first match at Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Brookston, IN. Jon quickly fell in love with 3Gun competitions and by 2011 had taken over as Match Director for Atlanta Conservation Club's 3gun program.
Over the winter of 2011, Jon, Tony Diana and Ryan Zamberlan formed what would become the largest state level 3 Gun Series in the nation, the Indiana Multigun Series. Also competeing at the National Level, placing 15th at the first Pro/Am 3gun the following year.
Jon felt that while the action shooting world had taught him ALOT about moving and shooting, he knew there was more to learn.
2013 while working for Hillside Shooting Sports, Jon was able to take his first "tactical" shooting course taught by Chris Costa (formerly of MagPul Dynamics). The rabbit hole of training courses had been found and Jon fell head first into it.
Fall 2013 Jon received a phone call from Travis Haley of Haley Strategic Partners about needing a new location to host his upcoming Indiana courses and a new relationship was formed. Over the next 3 years Jon with the help of Hillside Shooting Sports hosted Travis and HSP 10 times.
From 2017-2019 Jon worked for HSP as a regional instructor to assist Travis and HSP in the Indiana/Ohio/Illinois/Kentucky/Michigan area with HSP Courses. Shooting close to 50,000 rounds of both Rifle and Pistol ammo per year from 2014 to the CoVid Crash of 2020, Jon's experience and expertise level for the NE Indiana is hard to surpass.
Jon's goal is to pass along the knowledge he has gained from the top instructors in the country from not only taking those courses but working for them as well to his fellow Hoosiers, in true public servant fashion.
